Kidney Qi Deficiency

Formulas and Herbs:

  • Gui Shen Wan (Shu Di, Shan Yao, Shan Zhu Yu, Fu Ling, Dang Gui, Gou Qi Zi, Du Zhong, Tu Si Zi) + Ji Xue Teng, He Shou Wu

Modifications:

  • With more Kidney Yang Deficiency: + Ba Ji Tian, Zhe He Ce, Lu Jiao Shuang
  • With more Kidney Yin Deficiency: + E Jiao, Gui Ban, Sheng Di, Mai Men Dong
  • With low back sore, abdominal heaviness: give Tao Hong Si Wu Tang + Niu Xi, Ji Xue Teng

Qi and Blood Deficiency

  • Ren Shen Yang Ying Tang a.k.a. Ren Shen Yang Rong Tang (Ren Shen, Huang Qi, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling Yuan Zhi, Chen Pi, Wu Wei Zi, Dang Gui, Bai Shao, Shu Di, Rou Gui, Zhi Gan Cao)
  • Simple: Ba Zhen Tang, modify accordingly

Modifications:

  • After a few weeks: + Ze Lan, Cong Wei Zi, Ji Xue Teng, Shan Zha, Dan Shen, Niu Xi
  • With Kidney Yang Deficiency + Qi and Blood Deficiency: + Xian Mao, Lu Jiao Shuang, Zhe He Ce
  • With insomnia: + Bai Zi Ren Wan. Remember to tonify Kidney Jing when tonifying Qi and Blood: + Yin Yang Huo, Ba Ji Tian, Gou Qi Zi

  • Gua Shi Tang (Gua Lou, Shi Hu, Xuan Shen, Mai Men Dong, Sheng Di, Qu Mai, Che Qian Zi, Yi Mu Cao, Ma Wei Lian, Niu Xi)

Modifications:

  • With serious hot flashes, night sweats: + Qing Hao, Bie Jia
  • With coughing: + Chuan Bei Mu, Bai He, Wu Wei Zi

  • With chronic sickness: give Gui Ban Jiao Sang Shen Zi

Modifications:

  • With lots of Qi Stagnation, breast tenderness: + Qing Pi, Mu Xiang, Xiang Fu
  • During period breast nodules: + Chuan Lian Zi
  • With more Blood Stagnation: use Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang (Chi Shao instead of Bai Shao, Sheng Di instead of Shu Di) + Niu Xi, Jie Geng, Chai Hu,
