Actions

Clears Heat and Stops Spasms
For high fever and convulsions. Also used to treat toothache, sore throat, jaundice, epidemic fever and Summerheat.
Relieves Fire Toxins
Used topically for heat lesions, very effective at stopping pain on the skin.
Calms Liver Fire and Benefits the Eyes
For acute conjunctivitis, red and swollen eyes, or mild visual obstructions.
Reduces Swellings
For trauma, fractures, sprains and hemorrhoids.
Kills Parasites and Tonifies the Spleen
For tapeworm and childhood nutritional impairment.

Contraindications and Cautions

Do not use in cases without true heat. Traditional sources say this substance should not be used with Radix Stephaniae Tetrandae (han fang ji) or Radix Rhemanniae Glutinosae (sheng di huang).
