- Water Accumulation with interior heat
Actions:
- Promotes urination, drains dampness, and clears heat
- Nourishes Yin and Fluids.
Indications:
- Urinary difficulty with fever, thirst, and a desire to drink fluids, irritability, and insomnia
- Other possible symptoms may include nausea, diarrhea, cough, painful and bloody urination with pain and abdominal fullness.
Possible Tongue Appearance:
- Red with a dry yellow coat

- Nephritis
- Dysuria
- Hemorrhagic Shock
Cautions, Contraindications, Herb Drug Interactions:
- Do not use in cases with thirst from excess heat in the Yang Ming stage
Preparation Notes:
- Decoction. Add E Jiao to the final strained decoction. Modern formulations usually increase the dosage 2-3 times the amounts listed.
