Qi and Blood Stagnation

Formulas and Herbs:

  • Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang (Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Chi Shao, Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Zhi Ke, Yan Hu Suo, Wu Ling Zhi, Mu Dan Pi, Wu Yao, Xiang Fu, Gan Cao)

    Cramping-time Modifications:

  • With cold: Add Xiao Hui Xiang, Pao Jiang, Rou Gui, Wu Yao, Wu Zhu Yu
  • With Qi Stagnation: Add Xiang Fu, Chuan Lian Zi, Yan Hu Suo, Jiang Huang, Mu Xiang, Zhi Ke, Bing Lang
  • With Blood Stagnation: Add Chuan Xiong, Ru Xiang, Mo Yao, Xue Jie, San Qi, Yan Hu Suo, Pu Huang, Tao Ren, Wu Ling Zhi
  • With Heat: Add Chi Shao, Mu Dan Pi, Chuan Lian Zi

Modifications:

  • With bitter taste, yellow coat, long period and bleeding is thick and dark: Add Zhi Zi, Xia Ku Cao, Yi Mu Cao
  • If patient feels vulva/rectum prolapse: Add Chai Hu, Chuan Lian Zi,
  • With Liver attack Spleen chest tight, low appetite: Add Chao Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Chen Pi

Cold Congestion: Yang Deficiency Internal Cold

Modifications:

  • With very pale, cold hand and feet: Subtract Mai Men Dong, E Jiao

Modifications:

  • Sometimes: Hong Teng, Bai Qian Cao, Yi Yi Ren to clear heat (antibiotic) and drain damp

Qi and Blood Deficiency

Modifications:

  • With poor digestion, loose stools, Stomach heaviness: Subtract Shu Di, Add Bai Shao, Yan Hu Suo, Xiang Fu
  • With Blood Deficiency with Liver Qi Stagnation, period cramping, emotions, chest/breast tenderness: Add Chai Hu, Bai Shao, Chuan Lian Zi, Xiao Hui Xiang, Wu Yao
  • With severe Deficiency, including anemia, palpitations, dizziness, insomnia: Add Ji Xue Teng, Da Zao, Suan Zao Ren
  • With low back sore, weak knees: Add Sang Ji Sheng, Xu Duan, Tu Si Zi
