Acu Point REN-23 (Lian Quan) Ridge Spring

  • Meeting Point of the Conception and Yin Linking Vessels

Actions:
  • Benefits the tongue
  • Descends Qi and alleviates cough
Indications:
  • Swelling and pain of the subglossal region, salivation with glossoplegia, aphasia with stiffness of tongue by apoplexy, sudden hoarseness of the voice, difficulty in swallowing.
Location (CAM):
  • Above the Adam's apple, in the depression of the upper border of the hyoid bone.
Location (AMOA):
  • On the anterior midline of the neck, in the depression above the hyoid bone.
Needling Method:
  • Puncture obliquely 0.5-1.0 inch toward the tongue root. Moxibustion is applicable.
