Acupuncture Points on the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel)

Meeting Point of the Conception and Yin Linking Vessels

Actions:

Benefits the tongue
Descends Qi and alleviates cough

Indications:

Swelling and pain of the subglossal region, salivation with glossoplegia, aphasia with stiffness of tongue by apoplexy, sudden hoarseness of the voice, difficulty in swallowing.

Location (CAM):

Above the Adam's apple, in the depression of the upper border of the hyoid bone.

Location (AMOA):

On the anterior midline of the neck, in the depression above the hyoid bone.

Needling Method:

Puncture obliquely 0.5-1.0 inch toward the tongue root. Moxibustion is applicable.
