Acu Point DU-19 (Hou Ding) Behind the Vertex

Acupuncture Points on the Du Mai (Governing Vessel)

Actions:

Eliminates wind and alleviates pain
Calms the spirit

Indications:

Headache, vertigo, mania, epilepsy.

Location (CAM):

5.5 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, 1.5 cun directly above Qiangjian (DU-18).

Location (AMOA):

At the back of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun directly superior to Qiangjian DU-18 and 1.5 cun posterior to Baihui DU-20.

Needling Method:

Puncture subcutaneously 0.3-0.5 inch. Moxibustion is applicable.
